We’re definitely not in Kansas anymore. Pantone has released Emerald as the 2013 Color of the Year for 2013, along with a bright and vivid collection of spring colors!
Emerald is a vibrant green that is most often associated with the gemstone of the same name. It turns out Pantone knew just what we needed to get inspired in 2013. The hue of this color helps breathe in new life into the new year for it is recognized as a color of development and renewal. Naturally, we associate emerald with sophistication, luxury and richness.
Emerald was also chosen because, it “is the most abundant hue in nature – the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum.” (Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®).
